"The Soul of Humanity"--March 4th, 2009

Elaine Williams, author interview, author podcasts

Hello everyone, this evening it will be my pleasure to feature author Elaine Williams of OnWings Press. We will discuss her work as an author and her book, "A Journey Well Taken: Life After Loss" and its recognition as a finalist in the 2008 USA Book News National Best Book Award contest.

You can link to the book on the Amazon storefront HERE. There are some very good reviews which you can read through and if you have read the book already, I would encourage you to share your thoughts, feedback and comments with the Amazon community. Remember, reviews help books...so if you loved the book...help Elaine Williams by posting a review today!!!

I will be discussing the topic of independent publishing, from a personal aspect as well as the professional nose-grinding perspective of "work" many people don't understand when they hear someone say they are an author.

Elaine will be giving away one FREE autographed copy of her book tonight to a lucky commenter...so be sure to stop by, listen to the show, share your thoughts here on this blog and you may find yourself the lucky recipient of that free copy!!!

You can connect with her via her blog here: Loss, Grief and Renewal

Remember, if you are interested in sponsoring The Soul of Humanity, be sure to contact me here. We have weekly, monthly and even quarterly rates available. If you would like to be a guest on my show, you can submit an email HERE as well; be sure to put "TSOH-guest" in the subject line.

Bobby, I would like to know...did she ever find that person to spend the rest of her life with? And does she regret online dating or would she recommend online dating to fill that void she was missing after her husband passed? And are those balloons still there?

Thank you Elaine for sharing yourself with the world! It takes a great deal of courage to put yourself out there!

Anonymous: Thank you for taking the time to comment. I decided two years ago not to date men that weren't enhancing my life. Right now I am at the point where I "feel" the right partner is right around the corner!

I actually don't regret online dating, because I learned a lot about myself, the dating world today, and the fact that it added to the person I am today. The only thing I would suggest is to just be cautious, as you would be in any dating situation. Get to know someone before giving out any personal information.

The balloons remained in the tree for about a year, and then one day they were just gone. :-) Elaine

Elaine,
I read your book and could relate to it. I lost my father, not my husband...I felt some of the same emotions and the way you described the way your husband looked and acted was the same way my father looked and acted.
It really hit home and I actually cried reading your book and remembering those times.
My father died of lung cancer, and he reacted the same way your husband did in that Oh well it's ok attitude. I was also by his side the entire time of the dying process. The emotions you feel afterwards don't have to be just a husband or a child.
My father and I were not close when I was growing up, but it's amazing how you feel sad and lost afterwards. Thank you for your story, and I will buy the new one, not only for myself but for several other people I know!

Dear Anonymous: Thank you for posting. I am sorry for your loss. We all travel this grief journey in our own individual ways, but there are often times so many similarities in the process. Elaine
