"The Soul of Humanity"--April 15th, 2009

Tonight's edition of "The Soul of Humanity" will feature contemporary/pop musician, singer and songwriter Misha Williams. She is a native Texan and promotes a modern, fun, contemporary, hard-hitting guitar pop, through which she expresses the frustration and humor of being a young woman. She promotes a positive self-image for girls and encourages them to work hard and believe in themselves.

Tonight we will discuss aspects of her musical career, from her early stage performances when she was very young, to her musical abilities and lastly her CD--Take It Like It Is--and future endeavors within the music industry.

Be sure to listen LIVE tonight @ 7PM CST and share your thoughts, questions and feedback here on my blog... Misha will be giving away one free autographed copy of her CD to a lucky listener.

Misha, I loved that song and am looking forward to checking out more of your music. You are very well spoken and a great role model for your age. Do you always have lyrics stirring in your heart and soul for that next song?? Best wishes to you...

This question came in via email to the Artist First Network:

"Misha, what Artists influenced your writing and music sound and style?"

Misha:
This question came in via the Artist First Network as well from "Scott."

"Misha, your beautiful inside and out and have a wonderful gift to give through your music! Where is it available, do you have a myspace or wedsite?"

And to help with the answer, Scott, be sure to check out the links here on this blog...

Thanks for being on my show! I truly appreciate your time, as I KNOW how busy you are....And I am happy to announce to everyone that immediately following the show, Tony Kay (my boss) has extended the invitation to play all of Misha's music as part of The Artist First Radio Network musical rotation... KUDOS TO YOU!

Nancy, thanks so much for your comment! I'm so glad you liked my song "Someone Else's Eyes." It feels so great when my ideas touch people...it's the best thing about writing music! I am definitely always thinking of new lyrical ideas...I'll always write them down in my journal but sometimes let them sit there for a while until I really decide the best way to write that idea. It's almost like mentally preparing myself to make the idea as good as it can get. And of course I'm always re-writing until every word feels right (and nothing bugs me!) :) Thanks so much!!

The artists that influenced my music sound and style....There are a few that influenced me on different levels. When I started singing, I couldn't get enough of Mariah Carey. I even drew chalk pastel and charcoal pictures of her in my art classes!...I also loved Martina McBride, Celine Dion, & Shania Twain. When I started writing, I was majorly influenced by Michelle Branch, John Mayer, & Rob Thomas. Currently I'm very influenced by Jeff Buckley & a few independent bands called BigBang & Alpha Rev. I also started digging into the classics, like the Beatles, America, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, etc.... Who knows what my next album will sound like!! :)

You can find out more about me at my websites: www.mishawilliams.com, www.myspace.com/mishawilliamsmusic, and my official Japanese site http://avex.jp/misha/ Thanks so much for your comment! I try to update my official site as much as possible, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up with myspace, facebook, etc! I'm trying though! :)

Thanks for your question! Music life began for me when I was about 10 years old....singing & performing every weekend...50 shows a year around Texas. Talk about being busy as a kid! But I loved it! I started writing when I was 14 and never looked back. Sometimes I enjoy it more than performing, but the best is performing my own songs! I'm doing a lot of co-writing with great writers also because it's such a great way to expand yourself as a creative mind, and I love feeding off of each others' creativity!
