"The Soul of Humanity"--April 29th, 2009

On tonight's show I will share a recent blog post and personal struggles of my own, common to every artist. I have struggled lately to come to terms with my own journey, my place and purpose in the world with relation to my gifts and after many long hours of solitude, moments of anger, frustration and doubt and many more instances of deep prayer...I have concluded that I can go no further in my journey without recognizing the significance behind my gifts...

The article mentioned tonight (which you can read here) has sparked such hope from my fellow artist and more so from others, people just like you and me who are looking for encouraging support. I will discuss it tonight in detail and I am calling on each of you to submit your comments, feedback and questions in relation to the topic tonight. Unless my guest comes through before 7PM CST, then it will be "open mic" night for Bobby Ozuna...

Let me share two quotes that I think pertain. One may sound corny, but it's from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. "To be a ringbearer is to be alone." and the other is from Stephen King (and who could be more successful). "Authors are always trying to outrun their doubts." I believe we must do just that. The minute we second guess our talents, gifts, goals and destiny, we compromise our readers and also our immortlity, which of course, is what it is about.

I would also like to say HI to Gary from one of his biggest fans - Edward C. Patterson. It's great to finally hear your voice. Makes me want to do a conga dance.

This was a great show!
You and Gary Val Tenuta showed that we are not alone in our journey to follow our passion.
I hope eveyone will read The Ezekiel Code by Gary, and Ed Patterson, your last guest before today - all the authors have so much to give and contribute to a facet of your life you may not have thought of before.
I am a member of the Amazon Discussion group and have grown as a writer because these magnificent people group together and give such support it is a pleasure to be with such friends.
Keep doing what you're doing!
You are on the right path - as I think may of us are -
Here's to the written word, as well as online radio programs!

Bobby,

Thank you for the opportunity to be on your show! It was a blast.

You are not only a gifted writer but you're also an excellent talk-show host. Wait... that sounded too formal. What I really mean is that as a talk-show host, dude, you ROCK! As I told you before, I'm a long-time talk-show junkie so that makes me an expert on the subject! LOL

Thanks again, Bobby. Until next time... keep on rockin' the radio.

Best,
Gary Val Tenuta
Author of The Ezekiel Code

Just hearing my voice inspired you to do the conga dance? I'm honored! I think! LOL! Seriously, thanks for the kind words. Loved that Stephen King quote ("Authors are always trying to outrun their doubts.") Wow. That really hits home. Kinda hard to imagine Mr. King having any doubts that need to be outrun.

Ellen-the-amazon-book-reviewer-extraordinaire and author of the vampire short story, THIRST (soon to be a novel)! Thanks for listening to the show! Now get back to work on that novel! (Cracks the whip) :-)

Bobby, hang in there and try to smile a big fucking smile, my friend! Most of the world will never understand some things - so they can eat shit if they dislike us.

One of my fave quotes, from Saul Bellow:

"The finest thing about being human is our capacity for wonder."

Keep on wondering.

I have a few quotes to leave with you, since we both know you love quotes. I have a book to share with you the next time I see you. The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron. It was given to me from a dear author friend when she found out I was going to pursue my dream of writing a book years ago. I have read it 4 times now. Here are a few Treasures.

I personally love this one!
“There are the risks you cannot afford to take, and there is the risk you cannot afford not to take!” Peter Drucker

May want to sit with this one.
“If we learn to think of receiving God’s good as being an act of worship, cooperating with God’s plan to manifest goodness in our lives, we can begin to let go of having to sabotage ourselves.” Cameron

And lastly, one I know you will relate to:
“Every time you don’t follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual deadness.”
Shakti Gawain

Enjoy! You inspire us all! ;O) I loved the show, Bobby.

Thanks for the comment!

I love the quote where Stephen King said, "...authors are always trying to outrun their doubts." That is very true...so very true. But in my struggle, within my journey, I have had to realize that doubt is my lack of belief, lack of faith in the God who has bestowed my gift--of writing, speaking, encouraging, supporting, serving, and inspiration within the words of my mouth and the passion of my voice. I have had to come full circle on some serious realities of my life, my duty to God, and although we all struggle with doubt, it's time we ALL realize that we don't have to outrun doubt...but instead ignore it and know its a lie, its not true, it isn't real and it isn't me...

Thanks brother.

Thank you so much Ellen for your encouragement and support. I forget sometimes, in the midst of my own personal struggle--my ME, ME pity party--that my gift to talk and encourage and support others isn't about ME, but rather about those I can help within my blessings of my life, like this show. I truly hope my efforts to support others becomes a blessing, not just to my listeners, but to the people I serve to help them in THEIR journey to create success and offer something good to this world.

Thank you Ellen!!!

Thank you so much for taking that last minute spot on my show. I hope in some way, maybe now, maybe later, it was a blessing to your life. I hope I served your efforts to promote the passions of your heart. Thank you for the compliments about my hosting. Like writing, I never took a formal course on being a talk-show host or talk radio personality. I am trying my best to utilize what was given me at birth, for the betterment of others.

I hope you stay in touch with me and I hope you continue to keep me in the loop with what's going on with Ezekiel Code and your efforts as an author. Anytime you have news, share it with me, so I can share it with others...

Your friend,
~Bobby

You are truly my brother's keeper... stay in touch with me. We can do this, together, one step at a time...side by side in faith of something greater...of passion, hope, inspiration and belief that we have something good to offer this world...

Stay in touch with me my brother.

Melissa:
You have been such an inspiration to my life, my journey, the road ahead and the uncertainty of purpose with relation to my gifts. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the prayers, the scripture, the talks and the encouragement to not give up, even when I also seem to try and persuade you to let me. I will sit on those passages and consider them as I move forward. I will do what I can to serve those in need of a platform to offer their gift to the soul of humanity...

Thank you Melissa.
